The goal of psychiatric rehabilitation is to restore an individual’s ability for independent living, socialization and effective life management. With psychosocial rehabilitation, clients are provided with numerous opportunities for social, recreational and vocational activities. Participants learn and improve skills needed to succeed in these activities.

The program has a monthly calendar of activities to select from and participants help plan the activities each month. In addition, we offer the following specialized programming:

Life Skills Training
Classes available to teach how to live and function independently. Topics include health, self-care, money management, relationships and many other relevant areas of interest or concern.

Pre-Employment Training
Volunteer jobs are available in the business office, snack bar and building maintenance. In addition, Burrell has opportunities for those who have been employed on a volunteer crew who have demonstrated interest and reliability to become part of a paid work crew. These paid work crews perform building maintenance, lawn and yard care and window washing at homes and businesses in the community.

Social Center
The social center offers individuals an opportunity to relax and socialize with others in a non-threatening and supportive environment.
