Benchmarks at Burrell: Biomedical Factors in Medical and Cognitive Health - Sleep
This training is designed for mental health providers who provide treatment for individuals with complex, comorbid medical and psychiatric diagnoses.
The third and final day of this three-part series will review the importance of sleep in mental and cognitive health. You do not need to have attended the first two sessions in order to participate and benefit from this session. The presentation will review the science behind sleep and skills for assessing an individual’s sleep quality, in terms of their overall mental and cognitive health.
This intermediate-level training is designed for mental health providers who provide treatment or evaluation services to individuals with complex, comorbid medical and psychiatric diagnoses. The presentation will be based on scientifically proven facts and evidence-based practices with the intent of encouraging providers to take a biopsychosocial model to evaluating or conceptualizing a client, to avoid potential negative implications in a client's services rendered to them when another service would be more appropriate. The goal of this training is not to encourage providers to engage in treatment or evaluation services outside of their clinical competencies.
