Burrell Behavioral Health Announces New Therapeutic Resources for Medical Professionals, Essential Workers and Community At-Large

Group therapy, sessions and videos for frontline healthcare and essential worker.

COVID-19 has changed the way we live, the way we work, and the way we engage with many of the people in our lives. And even while we continue to “physically distance” to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, it is also essential that we remain socially and emotionally connected to one another.

Since stay-at-home orders were issued in Missouri, Burrell Behavioral Health has launched several virtual, group-based services to help meet the needs of the communities and the essential workers keeping them running. All services are available in all Burrell regions, unless otherwise noted.

“COVID has changed the ways we live and how we connect and interact in our day-to-day relationships. Mental health services absolutely have to change with it,” said Burrell Behavioral Health President & CEO C.J. Davis. “There’s another ‘curve’ coming behind the COVID curve, and that is the developing Mental Health Crisis. We simply must take care of our essential workers and make mental health services easier to begin and receive than ever before. We are proud to expand our telehealth offerings to accomplish this vital task.”

Healthcare and Essential Worker Coping Groups and Support Line

Burrell is offering a FREE, anonymous Essential Worker Support Line (aka a “warm line”) for essential workers and frontline responders in need of support and compassion as they continue to work and support our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Healthcare and Emergency management employee resources

Burrell is providing healthcare workers and other frontline responders (e.g., emergency management, EMS) with a series of FREE videos that provide education about the acute stress response and how to handle it, as well as access to a regular, anonymous, telephonic group sessions just for frontline workers. Participants are asked to call and enroll within 24 hours prior to the enrollment deadline for each group to secure a spot. You can call 417-761-5263 to register.
