ACT - Assertive Community Treatment

About the Program

ACT is an evidence-based, specialized service which engages individuals who avoid or do not respond well to traditional treatment. Burrell's team provides comprehensive individualized treatment which may include medication, nursing, vocational and academic support, individual therapy, employment services, addiction recovery, intensive case management, and peer support. Treatment usually takes place over a two to five year period.

We serve adults ages 18 and up who have a qualifying serious mental illness and significant functional impairments, emotional disturbance, co-occurring substance use disorders, or severe impairments to daily functioning or independent living skills. On average clients receive three contacts per week by one or more ACT team members. Our multi-disciplinary team provided intensive treatment services 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

Cost Details

Clients must meet the threshold for Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation to participate in the program. We serve Medicaid clients with this program. Most clients receive or qualify for disability income, as well as Medicaid and/or Medicare.
