The Youth Focus Clinic serves youth ages 5 to 17 who have challenges associated with ADHD, including problems with attention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and executive functioning.
Research on ADHD treatment is extensive and ongoing. Youth Focus Clinic providers are ADHD experts who have been trained in evidence-based treatment for ADHD and who keep current on emerging research and best practices. We are committed to providing treatments that work.
Accurate diagnosis is important. Inattention and hyperactivity can have many causes. (e.g., learning problems, trauma, and anxiety) and it is often difficult to identify ADHD by simply looking for the symptoms. Because of this, we complete a diagnostic evaluation for every child, which may include a clinical interview or a more comprehensive psychological evaluation, depending on the circumstances. We use these evaluations to ensure accurate diagnosis and to develop a treatment plan that is specific for each child.
We offer therapy in individual and group formats for youth, caregivers, and families, with an emphasis on behavioral treatments, including parent training, social skills development, and organizational skills training.
There are many options when it comes to medication management for ADHD and much to consider when choosing the best treatment for your child. Our medical providers will guide you through the process and will provide education about how medications work and what considerations need to be made so you can feel confident in the treatment decisions you make for your child.
